Topics regarding “PERSPECTIVE” that help couples understand more about marriage.
1. Three to Thrive: The Adventure of the Vocation of Sacramental Marriage
Length: 1 hour
Description: Calling all married couples! When is the last time you did something just to invest in your marriage? …learned something new about marriage that helped you practically? Join us for this workshop that will remind you why you got married, inspire you to live your marriage even better, and equip you with a deeper understanding of what marriage is as a natural institution and the difference it makes that we are Christians and have a sacramental marriage. God wants you to have a happy, thriving, satisfying marriage in the midst of the challenges, struggles and trials that marriage will inevitably bring. Your marriage is vitally important—to you, to your family, to our Church and to our society. Invest in it for all of those reasons. Why not? Make it a date!
2. The Stages of Faith and Marriage: Journeying in Unity and Intimacy
Length: 1 hour
Description: Have you wondered what stage you are in your faith? …in your marriage? Are you struggling in either? …know another person or couple who is? Wish you could say something or do something to help them? Join us to learn the typical stages of both faith and marriage; how to know what stage you are in; how long some of the stages typically last; what is necessary to move to the next stage; the different types of love and how they relate to the stages; and how to keep love alive over a lifetime. The metaphor used and information presented aims to transform your thinking and inspire you to greater love and intimacy with God and your spouse.
Included in this presentation is the video we created below. We do not charge for the video and offer it here for review. If you would like to use it in a presentation or for anything other than personal review, we do ask that you seek permission to do so through this contact us form.
Topics regarding “SKILLS” that provide practical concrete tools to help couples grow in intimacy and unity.
3. Know Oneself: Understanding Temperament Theory as a Tool for Intimacy
Length: 1 hour
Description: Have you ever wondered why your spouse feels, thinks, acts and reacts in ways that you just don’t understand? For example, does one of you think a “day off” means doing something active and for the other it means a day of rest? Does one of you respond quickly with great energy to things and the other respond slowly with increasing emotion over time? Join us as we look at the forgotten classical, but recently rediscovered, understanding of the temperaments–all through the lens and perspective of our Catholic faith. As Catholics, we can use this information for growth in virtue and holiness as individuals and as a couple. And, have a few good laughs in the process!
*Also available in Spanish
4. Two to Tango: Practical, Concrete Communication Skills to G.R.O.W. in Intimacy
Length: 1 hour
Description: Every couple is going to have problems, but what is important is “how” couples handle their difficulties. This workshop teaches basic concrete communication skills for married couples (utilizing the acronym G.R.O.W). The technique helps couples understand each other better, work together to resolve issues, and grow in intimacy and unity. The skills are easily adaptable for use with children, other family members and at work. Couples love learning the technique and frequently say they wish they had learned these types of skills before in order to have avoided a lot of heartache and to have a better marriage sooner. Good communication is a learned skill and it’s never too late to learn!
*Also available in Spanish
