We were pleased to offer a training for St. Mark’s new marriage preparation team who will run Transformed in Love at their parish August 11th and 12th! This is one of a handful of new parishes selected by the archdiocese to be a part of the first round of parishes to offer Transformed in Love. Annunciation Ministries and the Archdiocese of Miami piloted the program at St. Mark parish in January and are now training the local team to run it themselves. We are grateful to Fr. Jimmy Acevedo for his leadership and support of the program and to Mike Ros (pictured here introducing the parish’s vision for marriage ministry) and to the many faith-filled couples who will be helping to run this program! Transformed in Love is only one of the marriage ministries the parish will be offering. For ten years now the parish has offered a very successful one-day Marriage Retreat for married couples. In addition to the parish’s new work with marriage preparation, they are also working to develop more marriage enrichment opportunities. We are especially excited that four couples from St. Mark’s parish have attended our Parish Marriage Missionaries Level 1 Formation Weekend. Three just attended our April Formation Weekend and another couple attended our August Formation Weekend. These couples, along with many others are truly “evangelizing through marriage” and serving their pastor and parish community to strengthen the vocation of marriage. Under Fr. Jimmy’s direction and with the Ros’s leadership and the team’s faithfulness, St. Mark’s Parish will be a strong site for Transformed in Love! We ask everyone reading this to pray for this team as they prepare for August and for the engaged couples who will attend–that they will be well prepared for marriage and grow closer to one another and the Church through this program.
