Coordinator of Amore Ministry and Hispanic Ministry Liaison
Nirma coordinates Annunciation Ministries’ Amore Ministry, a parish-based, weekly couples group. Nirma also serves as our Hispanic Ministry Liaison by inculturating and translating our services for Hispanic communities.
She and her husband Alicio have been married for 30 years and have three young adult children. Together, they have worked in marriage ministry for almost 20 years. They started the marriage ministry at their parish and they regularly give presentations on topics pertinent to building strong marriages.
They are also certified facilitators for Fully Engaged and they have facilitated and presented for the Archdiocese of Miami’s engaged couple’s retreats, Transformed in Love and Camino del Matrimonio.
In addition, they, along with two others, wrote the Life Project, a practical workshop for couples to look at their goals, individually and together. They have presented this workshop to many parishes and have facilitated many retreats throughout the years.
Nirma is a very active member of her parish and helps with many ministries including Emmaus, Pastoral Care for the Sick, and Young at Heart Ministry for the elderly. She has also participated in, and led, a Bible Study course at her parish for 12 years.
Nirma and Alicio reside in the Miami area and are active members of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church.
