USCCB Committee Meeting

I was honored once again to serve as a Consultant at the biannual Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth Committee Meeting.
The Secretariat has a new Executive Director, Dr. Dominic Lombardi. He replaced Dr. Andrew Lichtenwalner (who I felt did an exemplary job and was sad to see go). I am very pleased, however, with this new appointment and feel very hopeful that Dominic’s expertise and background will serve the Secretariat and this work well. Please pray for Dominic in his new role and the other staff members and all the work done through the Secretariat.
In the midst of the crises in the Church and world today, this Committee, ably and faithfully chaired by His Excellency Charles Chaput, OFM Cap., Archbishop of Philadelphia, deals with what I believe are some of the most important issues facing the Church today. Please pray for the work of this Committee.
I know we all are continuing to pray for our Church, especially those who are suffering, including the victims, offenders, and the entire Church that is grieving and praying. I offered a few thoughts regarding this on a previous post, including a link to a helpful article from the Sisters of Carmel (including a quotation from it). To connect to that blog post, please click here.
May we all continue to pray and fast for our Church and its leaders and members. Come, Holy Spirit, come, renew the face of the Church.
